This banana bread is so toasty with the chopped walnuts and melted dark chocolate! It's the perfect treat to have that's not overly sweet. I love the addition of the walnuts for some extra crunchy texture and extra protein/healthy fats. This recipe also only uses one bowl and I'm all about less clean up. Dark choc & walnut banana bread recipe
Makes: one loaf
Time: 70 minutes
What you need:
3 ripe bananas
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 eggs, whisked
1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste
1/4 cup extra virgin olive
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 pinch/shake sea salt
1 and 1/4 cups plain flour
1 cup dark chocolate chips
1/4 cup walnuts, chopped
How to: Preheat your oven to 180 degrees fan forced and line your loaf pan with baking paper. In a large bowl, mash the bananas with a fork. Add the wet ingredients; extra virgin olive oil, eggs, vanilla bean paste & brown sugar and mix until combined. Now add the dry ingredients; plain flour, baking soda & sea salt and mix until smooth. Add in 3/4 of the walnuts & dark choc chips and stir. Pour batter into your lined loaf pan & sprinkle the top with the remaining walnuts & choc chips. Bake for 55-60 minutes or until cooked through. Transfer to a wire rack for cooling.
